Hey everyone! Last week, we adopted a little boy pug from our local pug rescue. We are so excited to have him in our home!
We were told by the rescue that he is approximately six months old, but I think he is fully grown. (He is 18lbs and up until he got neutered last week he had his little pug peanuts down below, if you know what I mean!)
Anyway, we don't really have a lot of history on him, but what we do know is sooo sad. Apparently, he was owned by a couple that lived in an apt. Other tenants complained to animal control that there was a pug left on the patio for weeks straight in the hot Texas sun without any shelter. Anyone that knows pugs understands that they cannot breathe well in the heat and that this must have been so traumatic for him! Anyway, after two visits from animal control, they agreed to surrender him to the pug rescue. I have volunteered & fostered them before, so they tried to call me (but I was at a conference for work) and they contacted my husband. He has refused for YEARS to get a pug. I had a pug that passed away several years ago & have had a hole in my heart since! We have two big dogs already & he has always said he doesn't like small ones. So, guess what? While I was away at the conference he agreed to adopt the pug! Of course, as karma would have it, Yoshi thinks my husband is his best friend! Yoshi LOVES him! He's constantly with my husband and is frantic when he can't see him. My husband feels so bad about this because he assumed the new dog would fall madly in love with me & follow me everywhere, but he LOVES HIS NEW DADDY!--And his new daddy loves him too! I have overheard Dave (my hub) on numerous occassions talking to Yoshi in a baby voice and saying how he cannot imagine anyone would ever treat him badly!
Anyway, he has won us & our other pets over & we love him dearly!
Welcome Home Yoshi-Oliver!

Also, thanks again to everyone that voted for his name!
